BASF and China’s Environmental Protection Administration Sign Clean Fuel Cooperation Agreement
BASF recently signed a memorandum of cooperation with China’s State Environmental Protection Administration (SEPA) and expanded their strategic cooperation in the field of clean fuels. The signing ceremony also coincided with the opening of a diesel bench laboratory with the China Academy of Environmental Sciences, a subsidiary of SEPA. The goal of the new laboratory is to help China further reduce vehicle emissions and bring a green and healthy environment to China.
According to Wu Xiaoqing, deputy director of SEPA, the diesel bench laboratory opened today is the first independently operated laboratory to test diesel fuel in China. It will help us to establish Chinese diesel detergent standards. It further contributes to the country’s commitment to environmental protection.
BASF and SEPA will also cooperate further in eco-efficiency analysis. The study and identification of eco-efficiency analyses applicable to China within specific industries will be carried out. In the process, training, seminars or workshops will be jointly conducted. In the process, both parties will jointly conduct training, seminars or workshops to promote the concept, application and management of eco-efficiency analysis. This is also an important professional analysis tool developed by BASF. Dr. Ao Yunfeng, President of BASF Asia Pacific, said that eco-efficiency analysis is an important tool for applying sustainable development principles in practice. The cooperation with SEPA and the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences will not only help BASF achieve its goals. And it will contribute to creating a greener and more beautiful environment in China.”
It is understood that the laboratory will operate according to international standard processes. The quality of diesel produced in the country will be assessed and recommendations will be provided to decision-makers at SEPA and the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences. These recommendations will be used to inform the assessment of diesel detergent quality and the development of industry standards. As the clean fuel solution of the future, diesel fuel additives help protect engines and improve performance. This reduces emissions and protects the environment.
